Google has appealed to the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) against the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) order of unfair trade practice in the matter of the Android mobile device ecosystem. The company spokesperson gave this information on Friday. The Competition Commission had slapped a hefty fine of Rs 1,337.76 crore on Google for taking advantage of its dominant position in multiple markets in the case of Android mobile devices. Along with this, the CCI had asked the Internet giant to avoid various types of unfair trade practices.

Google spokesperson said that we have decided to appeal against the decision of CCI on Android. We believe that this decision is a big blow for those Indian users and companies who have faith in the security features of Android. This will potentially increase the cost of mobile devices. The spokesperson said that we will keep our point in NCLAT. Along with this, we are committed to our users and partners. The company said that Android has benefited Indian users, developers, and OEMs and has furthered the country's digital transformation.

Sources said that Google has appealed to NCLAT to stay in this order. Google believes that the CCI failed to take into account that the open Android business model supports competition for the benefit of all stakeholders. Especially in the case of India. Sources said Google is confident that the NCLAT will look into the evidence available in the case that Android has contributed to the huge growth and prosperity of the mobile ecosystem in India. Sources said that Android has created more options for everyone. It has supported thousands of successful businesses across the country and the world.
